Puzzle Games That Actually Respect Your Brain
A good puzzle game trusts you. It gives you the pieces, steps back, and lets the 'aha' moment happen on its own. The bad ones bury that feeling under pop-ups begging you to buy a hint.
I look for puzzles where the rules are simple but the combinations get deep. That's the sweet spot: easy to learn, hard to master, no manual required.
Difficulty curve matters more than raw challenge. The best offline puzzlers ease you in, then trust you to keep up. If a game jumps from trivial to impossible, that's lazy design, not a real ramp.
My tip for tough levels: put the phone down. Half the time the solution shows up while you're doing something else entirely. Brute-forcing rarely works in a well-built puzzle.
